Roof ing plan

When I put a plan in layout and then try to show only the roof planes by "hiding" all other items ie; interior walls, cabinets, stairs, windows, doors, etc. little hash marks remain where the doors and windows were. Is there any way to prevent this so that I get a clean image that shows only the roof planes?

You should be able to, by using "select Items", turn off all other layers but roofs and see nothing else. I have done this many times without seeing any "hash" marks. Highlight the plan view you sent to layout, then open select items for that view and make sure all other layers are turned off.

What David J.Potter says will work. Perhaps the hash marks you are refering to are the "Roof and Gable lines" that are on layer 5. If you have a roof you have them and for some reason Chief does not display an * next to the 5 in "show items" signifing items exist on that layer.
