    window trim

If you see attached - I don't want these to be mulled together, but I do want trim. How do I get those lines to disappear?

Mull them together, but select "show component labels." They will show individual labels and report to the schedules independently.

Johnny.....Might not be the "best" way, but what I've done in this situation was to to set the windows without any casing then make a p-solid the size and depth that the casing needs to be around the outside of the four units. After that i just make holes in the the large p-solid to match the window units. If I knew my elevations were not going to be changed anymore I have also just changed the elevation to a cad detail and then you are able to delete any unwanted lines.

Yes, that is so, you will get casing around the entire unit which looks good, but you do not and cannot get the casing between the windows the same depth as the casing around the entire unit. Your method is probably the best with the exception of what I just said.

    Hi Scott,
It's not quite the way I would trim out the unit, and it's not quite right in 3D; but it looks good enough to me in elevation to live with.

I agree Bill, not worth fussing about. It's interesting that if you look at it in plan view, it appears there is some casing BETWEEN WINDOWS, but not as thick as the casing around the opening.

I suppose it's not a big deal with wood casing, but if I want stucco trim/casing, that is where the extra lines are a nuisance...... but I live with it for now.

If anyone else is watching this, there is checkbox under "options" which unchecked allows for framing between mulled units so it really finishes the process of them being unique in framing plans.

Not that I use mulled window often, but if I did and wanted to set the "bump" distance to a lesser amount, can I do that per window? I typically set for (2) 2x between for the trim set I like. However, if I was mulling windows I would drop to 1.5-2" - 3" is too much for mulled separation.

Well, just when I hardly ever use mulled windows, I need to place a mulled unit over a sliding door since I don't have the same dimension I do elsewhere. So can I change the separation for 1 particular window (actually 2)?

The minimum window separation can be set to any value you want in the window defaults. It will retain that value even if you change the default back to your usual default.

OK, got it - I can change the default back and forth to get what I want while not effecting my previous "bump" settings.
