Lost Dongle - 9.5
Does anyone know where I can get or purchase a dongle for version 9.5? Mine is lost and I don't want to purchase a new version of the software.

I already donated mine and my partner's
If anyone else has one CA will allow the donation if it is to a licensed owner of ver 9.5
Charrell:
you could also watch for an EBAY auction of ver 9.5
you can set up a favorites search and you get an email each time an auction for chief starts
you could also consider getting a newer version on EBAY
I would skip X3 due to the need to subscribe to the library and all the other library hassles
check CA's website to see what the upgrade cost is for X5 with SSA
your total potential cost should be at least $500 lower than a new license for X5 with SSA
not that you need to upgrade the older license - just allow for the possibility
so you don't pay too much
it also costs $50 to transfer a license and the seller should be willing to cooperate with you and CA
to verify that they have a transferrable license
NOTE: discounted licenses such as a second seat can cost $400 or more to convert to a primary license
you could also consider getting Home Designer PRO 2014 for $495
it could be named Chief Lite
since ver 9.5 is such an antique - just about anything more current would be better
but discuss with CA's sales the various limits that PRO has versus Chief
to ensure you don't "cripple" your workflow

Larry:
I'm not sure
there used to be an web page that showed the various locks and how to identify them
but I can't find it
even then some of the versions used the same lock type
my locks had the name on the lock
maybe call tech support and ask them
you should verify with CA that the requestor is a licensed user before donating the lock
I just charged $5 to cover postage
