    Importing & Editing DWG File

I have imported a DWG file into a CAD detail plan. The file is a site/contour plan. Firstly it has numerous site blocks on it so I am trying to crop it to only have the plan I need on it. Any ideas?

Also once this is done how do I get a plan footprint onto my contour plan?

    Thanks in advance.

Civil / survey CAD files are typically scaled at 1 unit = 1 foot. You may have to scale your footprint or the survey by 12 to match them.

Well you could bring the DWG directly into the site plan in Chief and work with it from there.
Like Jim said, make sure it is scaled properly first.
When bringing into Chief you have several options for importing. I would suggest you not set any of the lines to come in as polylines.
Perhaps set all the lines to a single layer, name of your choosing.

Any of the contour lines you can then make into elevation lines and then individuate (learned that word from Bryce) each line.

There is a lot more to it than that but it should get you started.

    after you import

use the "resize image" tool or the "transform/replicate" tool to scale as needed
