    Overhang problems.

I need to make an overhang between two walls [see screen shots]

    My issues are:
    1. The gutter isn't blending with the existing gutters on the left and right.
    2. I need to blend/trim to the other roofs.
    3. I need to put up two 4x4 vertical posts on the outside of the overhang to support it.

Your roof planes are not at the same pitch and they are not connected.

Select the roof planes and create the roof you want....
Roof planes are very similar to p-solids and can be manipulated as such. What you are asking for (my understanding anyway) shouldn't be too difficult if your exterior walls are colinear.

William answered your concerns about the support posts.

still scratching my head over this....

I drew in a roof plane to match the gutters and then just sretched it out to intersect the existing planes but I couldn't get roof plane join to work right. Kept getting errors and results that were not correct. I'm new and Im guessing thiat this is going to be a manual build right? If so, can someone give me some fairly detailed tips please? I looked and looked online but no real luck.

I realize that the pitch is different. The added roof is 2:1 and the three planes that intersect are all 4:1. Is that going to cause a problem?

Also..I may have to prop the gutter level about 6" from the existing gutters on the left and right. When I enter a value for that it wont except it.

If you manually set your baseline on the 2:12 pitch roof to the same as the other rooflines, lock that, and then let the roof intersect where it may. You'll have a "bastard valley" (if you don't know that is a term) condition along the edges, but I think CA should be able to do that just fine. This is probably a retrofit so you want to over-frame that section anyways. Id use the intersect guide CA has - I love those indicators.

Its up to you, but if this is a retrofit, matching in those eaves/gutters will not be fun - especially if this is an old house.
