Is there a graphic to indicate change in foundation level....?

Hello, all. Pardon my silly question. But, is there a graphic to label a change (ie a step up or step down) in foundation level. For example, I'm designing a house that will have a recessed family room/kitchen area and another part of the house will have a stepped up slab than the main house. On my plans I'd like to label these changes so my foundation engineer will understand as well as the framer. (FYI, I'm using CA X1).

    Hope I have confused anyone.

    Thnx all
    Roz

The best way to describe that in your drawings is to draw a section through that area to notate the changes vertically.

And show the location of the cross sections through the stepped areas with a callout in plan with lines showing the section location. If you go to the CA website and look at some of the sample plans you will get some ideas on how to do that. Go here:

What I do is insert a floor height macro in the room label and if the floor height changes you can see it instantly in the label on the foundation level. I also use it for the floor level rooms.
