First, pull down the Edit menu and study the Edit Behaviors fly out. It tells you all the different ways you can get into these modes. C is hard coded so it will still put you in concentric mode if you hold it down while dragging.
And for sure turn on the behavior indicators. That will tell you whether you are in the mode or not.
The X1 mouse button, which is one of the side buttons on your mouse also does this.
Based on your description it sounds like the issue might be a stuck mouse button. If you try a different mouse for awhile and it goes away I would replace the mouse, or if it is wireless, replace the batteries.Doug Park

This just started happening to me, too!! Arrrgghh.
No matter which Edit Behavior I choose, it will only do Concentric. I cycled through them all to be sure -- they all do exactly the same thing. I'm totally unable to do anything with a polyline solid or slab except resize it concentrically, even after closing Chief and re-starting with a new plan.
I'm going to try a different mouse to see if that makes any difference.Kathleen Moore

OK, it's not the mouse -- happens just the same with a different mouse.
On polylines and slabs, I can't move a corner button to make anything other than a right angle without getting the concentric move. This is true even in the middle of a slab.
I need help!Kathleen Moore

Expanding on Doug's thought... Turn your keyboard upside down and give it a good shake to loosen any stuck key(s). Do NOT beat on the keys. If this is a laptop, then use compressed air to blow any frou frou from within the keyboard in lieu the shake method. Also, make sure Edit Object Parts is turned off.
Guess now I'll go read the rest of the thread to see how many times these have been suggested. :-)

Well, I rebooted AND cleaned the keyboard, and it seems to be working OK again now. Unfortunately my experiment is confounded so I don't know for sure which measure cured the problem. Poor scientific method. :-(
But boy howdy, was there a lot of "ephemera" in my keyboard.........Kathleen Moore

Glad it worked out. My top three checks for unexplainable computer issues are (in order of checks) Mouse, Keyboard, Dust Bunnies inside/blocking the box. OVERHEATING IS A BIG ISSUE FOR MANY IN THE SUMMER. So, keep your machine clean, well ventilated, and cool during the summer! Especially when doing CPU intensive tasks such as Raytracing.

OK, my problem is back again -- still working on same plan, but it does it in new plans too. All the Edit Behaviors do the same thing -- concentric resize when trying to change anything with the corner handles. The middle handles work OK. But this means I can't make a roof plane anything but square, and I can't pull one end of a wall to meet another without the opposite end flying off in the other direction. :-(
I'm going to try re-installing Chief. Is anyone else still having this problem? Joey, did your problem ever get fixed? This is driving me nuts!Kathleen Moore

I think it's the plan that's screwing up the program. I was hesitant to do a complete re-install, so as a first step I ran the Windows 7 Repair function, re-opened Chief, opened a new plan, and the edit behavior was normal. Hallelujah!! But then I opened the plan I've been working on, and the concentric behavior was back again -- and now a brand new plan also has the same problem. Arrgghh!
So perhaps the plan file has gotten corrupted somehow? The designer that I'm working with and I pass the plan back and forth frequently via Dropbox.
Anyhow, can I copy and paste everything from the "corrupted" plan into a new plan? Then run the Repair, and open the new uncorrupted plan, and hopefully the edit behaviors will be normal. That's my fondest wish at this point!!Kathleen Moore

Glenn, I've cycled through all the Behaviors (with indicators On) and they are all Concentric, no matter what the indicator says they should be.

Here's a simple plan with a slab, a wall, a roof plane, and a polyline solid. None of these objects will do anything for me except Concentric behavior.
Thanks for taking a look at it.

Using your plan all items work as excepted, no concentric behavior unless I click on concentric behavior before moving an item.
