Rotatae cable railing on stair?
I have had this issue before where a cable or glass panel railing is turned on the stair.
I have read a couple of threads where checking 'panel' in the railing dbx. or rotating the symbol is needed to fix this.
I am a new user and cannot for the life of me figure out how to rotate the lib symbol or find 'panel in the railing dbx.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

for panel see the "rail style" and "newls/ballister" tabs on the railing dbx
select a tab, then hit F1 to see the help manual for that tab
F! displays the appropriate help for whatever is active at that time

I have struggled with this and for me the easiest method has been to make a series of custom moldings to represent the cables.
Take an elevation view of the stairs from the side. Then draw a line parallel to the handrail and position it for the top cable (or bottom cable). Convert that line to a molding line and use the round handrail that CA provides in the library. Size it very small (.25") and change the material. Then I use the multiple copy tool at 3" to copy it as needed.
For your stair I would then block that group of cables and copy it over to the other side.alan lehman - Lehman Design Studio - Carmel, CA

Thanks William. I had been by-passing the available information. I have now done this on a test stair but I am wondering if there is a way to get the top rail to work correctly? With the cable panel type I can not get the wall railing to show at all. The red line shown is the panel top rail.

The first image in this post shows the post to rail setting with cable panels. Not what I am looking for. The second image is post to rail with full control over the cap and newels but I added the cables by duplicating a molding line. If there is a setting I am missing please let me know because it seems as if this can not be done out of the box.
