or select each roof plane and set the pitch as needed

Lew he already shows the pitch he wants, just changing the pitch isn't going to get him what he wants

Perry:
Ok, that's what I remember from the various roof vidoes and articles from CA
I don't remember any of them using the T/R tool
another method I remember is to place an invisible wall
then generate the roof
then remove the invisible wall (if no longer needed)
there are ways to get a roof like that using the auto roof gen

Select the roof plane that you want to change. In the DBX change the the roof pitch then lock and change the baseline.

that is correct, you can do it automatically also if you know how to set it up. I also assumed he already had the walls and roof done.Perry

Just to clarify, if you do this, the BASELINE elevation is not perfectly accurate. You will find that if you redraw the roof with the correct pitch, the two baselines will deviate by fractions of an inch. The greater the rafter depth, and the greater the change in pitch, the greater the disparity. I understand that I am nitpicking, but I thought it was worth pointing out.

Love to see them lose the baseline approach and use top plate or seat cut height

Mr Lockeed,
there's a couple things you need to establish first. 1) You need to establish your desired wall top plate heights and or your desired roof pitches. If you want the front wall top plate at 10' then first set the room hgt at 10 ft then manually draw the steeper front roof pitch at 10/12. Then reset your garage room hgt at say 12 or 14 ft then manually draw the rear roof at 5/12 and then intersect the two roof planes using the join tool. You may have to go back and forth making adjustments unless you figure it out first with some hand or cad drawn sections or side elevations. After drawing it the way you want, then go back and set the ceiling hgt to where ever you want it pending your attic floor structure, if any.-BradArchitect,NOT! Me too. Actually though they should allow us to draw and set the baseline hgt without any walls or room height designation and draw a roof plane manually based upon the baseline being the outer bearing point of a top plate. This way you could draw porch roofs etc without having to define a room (like over a concrete patio slab without a frost footing).-BB

Brad:
Chief can sorta already do this
in the "Build roof" dbx set "set make roof baseline polylines"
click ok to create tje baseline
then use the "build roof" dbx to build the roof planes
you do need to create 4 walls first
but you could delete those 4 walls after the baseline and roof planes are created
so I think what you are suggesting is that chief be able to create the baseline first
then generate the walls ???

Actually Lew,
I'm suggesting that they give us the ability to draw a roof without a room designation or walls and have the ability to set "the roof bearing heights independently and individually per roof section. This would eliminate the hassle & PITA of creating a room height and then resetting that room height for the other roof plan which bears at a different height. This garage situation is a prime example for the need. Look at all of the solutions just offered by these other experienced users.
Along with and in conjunction with this would be having the ability to draw a wall and set it's top plate height independently from a room height designation. And the ability to lock the walls in plan view too. I've been saved many times by having created CAD reference points (wall corner intersections or floor elevation cad lines) when rooms have lost original vertical information or walls snapped to some other dimension after changing a dimension setting.- BradArchitect,NOT! Brad:
I love flexibility and features so I'm for this suggestion
but I guess we would need a "roof to walls" tool
to create "rooms" under that roof once it was set as needed
