    "Help" menu shuts X5 down

I am having problems with trying to open the help menu from a plan in X5. When I click on the ? I get a window that says "Chief X5 has stopped working" and the whole program shuts down. Anyone else seeing this or have a solution? Thanks

Thanks William, the F1 hot key does the same thing, menu starts to open and shuts down the whole program.

Good thought but triggers the same thing. Looks like it is tech support.

Doesn't the Help just display in Internet Explorer? Maybe you've got a popup blocker stopping it?

No internet explorer, usually when I click the big ? at the top I get a window within Chief that accesses the user manual with an index. This window opening is causing the program to stop working and shut itself down. Happens in any plan I open, so not plan specific.

Right, but this displays in IE, doesn't it? If I click on the Options button it definitely pulls up the "Internet Options" that apply to IE, and right clicking inside of the Help and selecting Properties pulls up that its an HTML doc with the Internet Explorer logo.

No, I may not understand what you mean but I don't think it is opening in Explorer. I have attached a screen shot of what happens when I try to pull up the help index by all the methods mentioned above.

I was pretty sure it was Internet Explorer, but I checked the Task Manager when clicking on the ? or Help> Contents & Index, and it looks like the application it launches is called "Microsoft® HTML Help Executable" so my money is still on a pop-up blocker.

It isn't causing me any problems right now so I haven't checked with tech support yet. I'll try to find some time to do that tomorrow.

Takes less time to shoot them a ticket online than you've already spent on this thread.
