    Floor Framing Layer Missing

I am an X3 user have been using Cheif for 12 years and have never had this warning before. I can't seem to generate any floor framing, the floor is there. I tried to put in a joist direction and it comes up with a warning! (the floor/ceiling structure does not have a framing layer) Does anyone know what I have done to have this problem I was changing floor joist size after the fact could that be it?

    Thanks for the help!

Heather, haven't tried to download it but it looks like the file is too small. Be sure you have the program closed when you make the zip file. 128 bytes is really nothing.

    Shrik file

You were right I had it open and I had to take off a bunch of detail to upload it. It is so queer I've never had this happen before.

One of these days I'm going to come up with a brilliant solution to a Chief user's problem - but not tonight. I looked over the plan and found nothing I did changed that warning. I've never seen it. I DID rebuild the foundation and first floor a blank plan (copied and pasted) and the problem went away but no telling what the specific culprit might be. Best to wait for those would be smarter.

If you delete the joist direction 3 X 12 joist direction line the warning goes away - still no framing but that will kill the warning.

    Heather,

Go to the floor level 1.
    Open Default Settings...Floor.
    Structure tab...Floor Structure (L).
Move the arrow to what should be your framing layer (11 7/8" thick).
You have Sheet Plywood assigned to this layer.

This is no good - it needs to be a Framing Material like Fir Framing or CA-B Pressure treated Lumber, otherwise Chief can't build framing.
