Problem creating extended roof overhang
As you can see from my attached pics, I`m having a heck of a time making the overhang properly, and not for lack of trying.
I`m using Home Designer Architectural 2014, if that makes a difference.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to define the "porch" and tell it that there is a ceiling and roof over the porch and Chief should take care of the rest.

Thanks for the tip Joey, I was able to use `invisible walls` with open floor below to create the effect I needed. Now the only problem I am having is getting the gable centered over the area of the right window. When I generate the roof, it always places the peak way to far to the left.

Move the offending roof plane out to the invisible wall you created - just guessing

Are you trying to center one gable over the triple window and cover the entry with another gable.
Your photo shows that both roof planes have the same slope which would center the gable to the left of the windows.William Page Architects A.I.A.
