Help creating Terrain
Can anyone point me to a decent tutorial on Terrain? I have SSA and was hoping the videos would be helpful but the only one on Terrain is VERY brief and simple. I suppose I could spend some money if I have to, but I'm currently choking over the expense of upgrading from HD Pro 2012 to Chief Premier w/SSA for what is basically my own hobby use on my own house at this point.
I think part of my problem is that I'm missing the way I need to think in order for Chief's terrain system to make sense. I work with a sophisticated terrain system from Agtek (think CAD/CAM for grading and excavating) and I suppose I keep expecting functions to be similar.
I need to include the entire lot plus parts of adjacent lots and the street in my plot. However, it is pretty simple terrain as it is mostly flat.
Any help is much appreciated.X5 Premier x64

The videos we watch are not 100% gold, but if we find a gold nugget, the time spent viewing has a value.
We can please some of the people some of the time, but we can't please all the people all of the time..... but I will keep trying.

Greg:
most likely Chief will work very differently than your CAD/CAM software
check the videos on www.chieftutor.com also on Youtube
The SSA videos should have more than one video on terrain

A couple of quick tips.
Your terrain obviously needs to be sized to cover the whole area that you want to show.
Use Elevation Lines to shape the terrain - use real world levels.
Use a Terrain Feature to represent your subject site.
You can then use the other tools like roads, sidewalks, etc.
Set your house floor level by setting The Pad Elevation to the real world height.
