Layout view doesn't have rotate handles

Can't figure out why my layout view doesn't have a rotate handle? I remember encountering this issue before, but don't remember the resolution. I'm sure it's something simple, but can't seem to find the answer. Please show me the way!

Sometimes the rotate handle is just "hiding" behind something else like a temporary dimension or something. Zoom in and out and see if it shows up.

We've resent the section view several times zooming in and out, can't find it. Is there a setting that controls the rotate function?

In layout, plan view and render views have rotate handles. Wall elevations don't and they aren't hidden. I have closed out of CA, reopened, resent and has not corrected the issue. Any more thoughts out there?

Why would you want to rotate a wall elevation?

The answer is Yes. Elevations are not able to be rotated in layout.

And still the new question remains, why would you want/need to rotate an elevation?

We were using a layout sheet in portrait at 8.5 x 11 size to be able to fax. The views would have fit better at our scale if we could rotate. I thought that all views could be rotated, guess not. Thanks for letting me know.

Bob, with the elevation open, do a "Cad detail from view". Your elevation will now be in a cad detail (cad detail management). You can now send that elevation to the layout and rotate it how you like. Keep in mind that that the elevation in the cad detail is no longer live. If you just want to send the elevation to the layout and rotate it, this is how you can do it.

Bob,

You can also edit your layout page setup. Print>Page Setup>Change page sixes to 8.5 x 11 and choose "portrait" for both orientations. This way you should be able to fit what you need to without rotating anything. Hope that helps.

Thanks guys. I knew that I could use a CAD detail view, but thought something wasn't working right with the elevation view. Just didn't know that I couldn't rotate it.
