mouldings & roof overhangs

I have checked most the settings in edit ,& clicked on the dimension tool till it was highlighted
I use to get a door as well as a moulding distance from a wall , that isnt happening anymore & under locat objects casing is checked I have been having the same issue with roof overhangs , before when i clicked on the roof polyline it gave me a dimension from the side building wall to the roof gable fascia

Where should i be looking ?? for this seting ??

I would double check all your default settings. Do you have "object snaps" on ?

For the dim. of the roof overhang turn on the temporary dims.
