Point Markers Not Snapping
Title says it all. Even though the snap is turned on to be able to snap to points markers I can't get my CAD lines to snap to them. This is typically how I do my site plans and have always done it but for some reason on this plan it's not working. Any suggestions to try before I post a plan?
I should specify that I'm referring to temporary point markers. Opening a new plan it works just fine, just not in this one plan and I'm wondering if there is a setting I have set by accident.Aaron D.

Whenever that happens to me it's because I've somehow turned off that one snap tool. Don't know how I do it, but it happens with some regularity.

It may be either End Point or Center snaps that are toggled off - both will snap to the center of a Point Marker.
The shortcut for Endpoint Snap toggle is the 4 key and the shortcut for Center Snap toggle is the 6 key.
Make sure you have Object Snaps toggled on (Shift+F11) first and then try using either of those to toggle them on or off.
Because the shortcuts are only a single number key press they can be easily toggled by mistake.Glenn

Working in X4, Searched for this yesterday, EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED with not being able to snap to points in my roof edit view!!
SOLUTION FOUND
Point snaps will not work if layer 100 CAD, Default is not on.
Hope this may help someone else from frustration.

I don't think I have a 100CAD layer. Not in front of computer to check.

No such layer exists called "100CAD" in any version of Chief Premier UNLESS it was custom created by the end user, so Bruce, that datum is probably only true for your copy of Chief X4.

Your both right, the layer 'out of the box' is 'CAD Default'.
If this layer is turned off in X4 you can place a point marker but not able to snap to it, very frustrating.
Not a problem for most since this layer is the default CAD layer...I would not place objects on it since I would never be able to turn it off and use the snap to points function.

Hi Lew,
Yes, that's probably where the layer name comes from.
I guess I've renamed the 'CAD Default' layer to '100 CAD, Default' although I still have a layer 'CAD Default', strange.
None the less if you turn off the display of the 'CAD Default' layer you will not be able to snap to a point, at least not in my version of X4.
