    Spiral stairs!?

I have not gone through spiral stair isues in chief
In my preveous works using chief , but after some trials, i have realized pretty good results may be achieved in chief. How do you chiefers think about this particular issue?

    Yusuf,

If you search for this topic you will find several threads. I think I'm the only one here that makes symbols for this type of stair. Chief itself doesn't handle them at all. Basically, you need to model each tread, the post, the balusters and the railings.

There are specific code rules for this type of stairway in the USA and in many cases custom landings are also needed. Some of these stairs can be purchased as components and assembled on a job site. Sometimes the stairs are fabricated in a shop (welded units with special railings) and just installed as a complete unit.

When I create a symbol for a spiral stair it's totally custom and I don't do it free.

    Yusuf,

It's too limited for my taste. I know how to get that result but it just doesn't allow the level of sophistication and detail that I want. Try doing a wood spiral like one of the pics you showed. Also try getting fancy with railings.

I tend to agree. OTOH, I can make any symbol I want directly in Chief. Sketchup is not required.

Hey guys, sorry i was just away from home last few days,
I dont believe this is a miystry in chief that only one person is claiming to be able doing it in chief.
Deleting some surface when creating symbol is some thing that most of us know., the rest is just a stair.
Joe i did not do the parts and assembling!
R you kidding? Complicated for most users.
Any way i will give it a try. What you said about fancy railings and landings. I thing not just a big deal.

Down under with no access to a computer. BTW, I have done these videos already, but, they are not as refined as Joe's. I believe Joe's are put together with elements more than via the stair tool. But I forget how he does the guardrail.... Joe?

denis, i have this simple steps for you, no assembly plant needed! just create the rails separately by using a circular stair with a very small width to represent the railing edge of the spiral stair. Then the second step is to make a thread and rotate it with angle and z replicate and raise the height.
This two steps r applied for the most complicated ones.
Scotttt the ordinarry ss r very simple and automatic in stair tool, just make some tweaks there and post the videos. People r waiting,
This method may be easy for you than your frnds assembing parts one by one.
ok joe, do you do this way as i explained........know you c my method beats yours. there is a lot more power in ca than normally understood!
    i can assure you.
