    Attic room

I am trying to create an attic floor plan.Click image for larger version.

ID:	57486 I do not need to recreate the house just the interior attic. The roof line would start at the bottom of the interior wall and then join in the middle with a 12/12 pitch. I am very rusty using Chief and it is probably simple but I am not sure how to do this.

If the attic is going to be the first floor then, settings wise you must set the fake "attic" room (for God's sake do not name the space "Attic", room names are also programming commands, naming a room "Attic" would be a bad idea in this case) dialog ceiling height to zero ceiling height. Build roofs automatically or manually then.
Your settings make the difference between something useful or useless, if you do not yet have what you want then you can know that your settings are wrong- find and change the wrong settings and you will be fine.

lets assume a two story house with an "attic" that is being converted into a bonus room

I would create a simple box for floor 1 and floor 2

then create floor3 to be the size of the new "bonus" room

this is because Chief doesn't allow for room definition on Floor A

once your "structure" is dimensioned as needed then proceed to
"decorate" your bonus room as needed

you will need floor 2 to allow for the stairs coming into the floor 3 "bonus" room
so you might as well create floor 1 with floor1 and floor2 as simple shells
