    Chief 9.5 "key" ???

I am using 9.5 with a plug in Key in the back of the computer. I purchased a new computer which does not have a plug-in for the Key. What are my options? Thanks

Older programs don't play with with new Microsoft OS, are you sure your 9.5 would be compatible even if you could get the key to work? It might be time for an upgrade.

yes, it is possible to use serial devices on new PC's with USB ports

NO, it is not a good idea to even try

very few users have been able to run Chief 9.x on Vista or Win7 or Win8 PC's
even if you can get it to work it probably will have issues

you would be better off finding an older Win XP PC and use it

you would be even better off upgrading to ver X5

you might be able to find X2 for a reasonable price on EBAY or this forum

I wouldn't bother with ver 10 or X1 as they will probably have the same issues on a newer PC

I would avoid X3 as the library system was an absolute nightmare

X4 would also be a good choice - but if you can afford it you might as well go for X5
