You can try to re-start your computer if something got screwed up but you may have already done that. You can try to go into the actual file and make a new shortcut from the X2 exe. file also. There was some irregularities with the new shortcuts with the x5 update, it gave me 2 of them.

Thanks Perry, sounds like it is worth a try. Again, a good task for Monday. All the help is very appreciated; haven't been on here in a while but am always grateful for the willingness of others to share their knowledge, and the speed with which the answers arrive.

I think we are all trying to help Steve but it's after 5:00 on Friday and Steve wants to go home and enjoy his weekend. Good for Steve.

Tech support will be open at 6:00 AM PST on Monday morning and I am sure they will be able to help you.

Mind you, this has never happened to me but if it did, I would just re-install the non-functioning title. I have 9.5 through X5 and versions 7-2014 of all seven Home Designer titles per version and they all work just fine, sorry you are having trouble.

So I found out when back in the office this morning that we were having big difficulties with our server last week. I gave X2 a try and opened as usual, no problems. It seems strange that the network server would affect a program stored on my C drive (and my other versions worked?) but all seems well now so I'll leave that nugget up to more technically gifted minds than my own. Thanks again for all the helpful responses, as always much appreciated.
