    find duplicate library items

I'm thinking of importing some old .alb files of "bonus" library items. I found that some of those items are already in the x5 libraries. Is there any easy way to import only unique items, or to find duplicate named items in the library?

did you try exporting those unique items in an older chief version in .calibz format and then import those items to x5, not sure but it will work if i understood what you asked.

    Yusuf:

the .CALIBZ format came with ver X2
older version use the .ALB format

ver X2 - X5 can import .ALB files via the LIBRARY menu

however, I don't think there is a way to import only unique items or to find duplicates once imported

so after the import - there may be a "mess" to clean-up

I am pretty sure you can import individual items from previous versions by opening the old version and placing the symbol in the drawing and then saving the symbol to a custom library folder.
You can then import it into X5 with the Convert Legacy (.alb) Library Files tool.

I haven't got time to play now, but will do so later.
