Material list polyline only calculates one floor.

When I create a material list polyoline on floor one, it only calculates materials for floor one. My understanding is that a material list polyline should create a material list for all floors.

How do I get a material list polyline to calculate materials from all floors?

try MENU - TOOLS - MATERIAL LIST - CALCULATE FROM ALL FLOORS

the icon should also offer this choice

Thanks, but that gives me the materials for the entire building. I am trying to get the materials for the addition.

The video turorial (#372) on using material list polyulines for remodels is the only reference I can find that states that the material list polyline calculation will include all floors, but when I create a material list from the material polyline, it only calculates the floor that the polyline is on.

Any idea why the calculations are leaving out the foundation?

you missed the message that later versions must use the button on the bottom tool bar to initiate a polyline material list and which only does one floor. Apparently the cal from all floors part has been removed for polylines. This may not be Chief's intent -- submit a bug report.

Chief doesn't separate as-built from new

clone the plan - delete the as-built areas

then generate the ML
