The architecture is what you make it. The software has no preference.

This should be an interesting thread. There are some samples out there on the web.

I guess that means no posting something from Australia, after all that would be against the spirit of the original post.

So here's a construction piece I did do a loooong time ago in Chief XV BC.

Agreed the promo stuff is traditional houses. Unfortunately that is what a majority of the client base in the US prefer. Architecture here tends to look over its shoulder instead of forward.

That, my friends, is because the architecture of our schools, doctor's offices, hospitals, and dental offices looks forward, and few Americans want to live in something that reminds them of their last trip to the principal's office, their last colonoscopy, or their last root canal.

Older homes (or architectural styles) look like they were built by Craftsmen. Modern homes look like they were built by Tradesmen. Not to say Tradies aren't good at what they do, but I don't think they get the opportunity to show their finesse.

Sometimes 'old' is good. We all have a 'preference' as to what is right, what makes us feel at 'home' and 'comfortable'. To me, the 'craftsman's' and 'bungalow' style is where it's at. CA provides me the tools to do it!. If my style was different, the tools are still there, I see no limitations....

The Artist's tools do not define his Art, software is a tool, Architecture is for People and what People find acceptable. Existing Architecture of whatever kind is merely a reflection of the People who paid for it and little else.
Outside of that is opinion only, the cheapest kind of creativity is opinion and the lowest order of "creativity" is criticism. Great works of Art in whatever field are brought into being by ability and force of will, those attributes are truly rare when merged in a person or group.

Very good statement. I think I read on here while ago that summed it up perfectly. When houses were built with hand tools, labor was cheap and materials were expensive. Today the opposite is true and that is why you do not see the details that you see in older houses. Or something along those lines.
