    Should I reload program?

Here's the poop. I open up LAYER DESPLAY OPTIONS and select SELECT ALL because I want to lock all layers. This function will not work, it will not highlight all layers so I can lock at once. I have not seen this behavior in several releases. I am assuming the program is now corrupt. I assume I should now reinstall program. If this is so, how should I go about this. Do I need to deinstall program and then reinstall? If this is so, would somebody mind giving me simple step by step instructions?

As a side note, I have also noted that the SELECT SAME TYPE function does not seem to be working correctly, cannot swear to it, but I did notice it does not appear to work as well as it did at one time, another indication that something is corrupt.

In earlier version (that had a program CD), there was a repair option. I don't know if that option is still there.

    Scott:

if you can suffer with it today
probably best to contact tech support before doing a re-install

If TS does give you a re-install procedure, I would think it would help us all if you posted the procedure here so we would be able to find it later on if we need it.
Of course a video would be nice but a printed step by step would also be nice for those who are video challenged....

By the way, a little voice is telling me to post the plan. Here it is, I can open the LAYER DISPLAY OPTION DBX but I cannot select all LAYERS, I am assuming you guys will be able to, therefore I believe it is my PROGRAM issue and not a PLAN ISSUE.

    Scott,

I opened your plan selected all and locked. It worked
for me. It seems like something is corrupted with the
    program.

Thanks Richard for confirming. As I said I have not seen this in several versions. I did get a corrupt warning several days ago, so I am assuming this is the result. I will call TS in the am.

Scott, is this a problem for all plans? If not, try opening an earlier backup or archive plan. If it's for all plans, then it's definitely a program issue. A corrupt warning is usually for a plan I believe.

Definitely a program issue. Opened up new plan and same problem. In fact I just discovered I can not add a layer to a layer set as I have typically done. Big problem.

Sounds like more of a computer problem to me. I went to windows 8 (clean install) last week. I just downloaded the file from my locker and did have to reset it up again, but the way Chief has it now , its real simple. You can import defaults from any plan. Not sure about a repair option because all I have ever have done was a new install. Windows 7 was getting a little quirky for me so I figured it was all the Microsoft updates lately. Prepping everyone for windows 8 (new drivers) seemed to create win 7 problems for me so I just did it, and now everything's doing fine.

There is an option in Control Panel for either Uninstall, Change or Repair.
Go to control panel, select Chief.
In the bar accross the top are the above choices.
Probably worth doing a Repair before you go the whole hog with a reinstall.
