Is it possible...Send a 90x90 plan to layout at 1/4 scale using 24x36 sheet....

Hello, all. I've been away from CA for sometime, so I'm a little rusty. I need help printing to PDF. I have a new design I'd like to fit on a 24"x36" sheet at 1/4" scale. I've seen plans by other folk in my area successfully fit similar size houses (appx 90"x90" for example) on a 24"x36" sheet. My plan is 90x88 and I cannot get it to fit on a 24x36 sheet at 1/4 scale and its driving me crazy. It bleeds over the margins even after I size it down. I'm sending to PDF using PDF995. I have both the Page size and Drawing sheet set to the same size. I would post the plan but I notice when I tried to attach it, the Uploader dbx said "Invalid File". Are we not allowed to post plans? Again, I've been away for awhile.

If its impossible, then do I have to scale down to say....1/8"??

I'd appreciate any help, assistance, pointers!!! And thanks in advance. This forum is very helpful and has gotten me out of pickles before.

This forum will not accept a .plan file because usually they are too large. You need to zip the file with a .zip ext. generally that also reduces the file size considerably for simple plans.

Also a 90' x 90' plan should fit fine on a 24 x36 at 1/4". Works fine for me.

To troubleshoot. you might want to double check that "set drawing scale" (#4) in page setup is set to 1:1 and turn on show dwg sheet to see the actual scaling.

Nope. Won't fit on 24x36 @ 1/4" scale. Will have to drop to 1/8" scale. Doing this will probably require you to increase the text and number size. 3/16 scale fits good but I wouldn't use that scale.

i Agree -- 24" sheet with border = approx 22". Your layout looks a little over 90' + dim lines = about 110' @ 1/4" scale = 27"+. Won't fit on "D" Chief has scaled it correctly.

Thanks folks for the replies. Couldn't I also go with a larger sheet size, say 36"x36"; if I wanted to keep 1/4" scale?

A long time ago I created a hybrid E size 30"X42" which accommodated almost all of my large drawings to maintain quarter scale. I would also run a few 50% drawings to accompany the large prints to give to my customers. They go away happy.

Also as tommy suggests I increase the size of my text for the entire drawing. It is a little big at 1/4" but then who cares you have plenty of room on the paper.
