It will work ok on stairs too...to a point. Make sure your railing wall is entirely overlaying the stairs. On the Railing Specification > Rail Style, select "Follow Stairs".

It should look good except that you cannot have the railing wall connect to landing or other floor railings, or the angles get mangled. This is a bug in the program. If you leave a small gap, it will look ok, but not perfect.

The railing will try and connect through a small gap. You can stop it with a small, thin, invisible wall placed perpendicular to the railing walls.
