    AutoDimensions

It's been a LONG time since I posted here.
I did a search and found some threads - but the newest one that I could find was from 2010
For one reason or another the autodimensions on this plan are not working.

The main floor - they do not dimension the house. I get dimensions around the garage.

    I get auto-dimensions around the entire lower-level.

I can't find what the problem is.

    The plan is X4

    Thanks for looking.

    Chris,
I think it is the railing walls on the decks that are preventing auto dims.
By default, railing walls are tagged No Locate.
Select all the railing walls and uncheck No Locate - the plan should then auto dim.

    Thanks Glenn.

if I do that - i do get dimensions, but they dimension to the outside of the deck/railings rather than the way they normally do through them. and I don't get dimensions to the windows/doors.

it was dimensioning normally earlier - then I changed somethings on the lower level and my upper level dimensions don't work.

auto-dims don't work if there is an exterior wall break somewhere

    Chris,
I could not get it to auto dimension w/ the railing walls left at "No Locate". I could get it to auto dimension by deselecting "No Locate" for all the railing walls, but the dimensions were locating the railing walls only. The only way I could get auto dimensions to locate the main walls of the house & openings was to select all the railings/control x(cut)/Shift A(auto dimension)/ control-alt-V to paste the railings back in place.
I tried lots of other stuff too that didn't completely work. Might have something to do w/ having rooms below the decks; you know that dbx that you get when you open the plan.
You have a very short Siding-6 wall segment where the two railings for the Covered Patio meet at the back. Didn't seem to have anything do do w/ this though.
Maybe somebody else can figure it out.
    Thanks, Jim

Lew, there aren't any breaks...at least, I'm pretty sure there aren't any.

Thanks Jim. I'll check some of that out.

Still not quite sure what the problem is...but it does have to do with the railings on the upper floor.

I deleted them, set my autodims - and they worked fine. Put the railings back in, and they seemed to be fine after that....
