Plotting problems with HP520, W7, PDFs,...
Interesting issue with business partner's plotter. We can plot Chief created pdfs to printers all day. Send one to the HP 520 Design Jet and any jpegs in the pdf are completely dropped. Print the jpegs directly or print directly from a view/image in Chief and they come out clean (darker on plain paper than the screen).
Anyone hear of this before?
Anyone having issues with HP 500 series plotters? Mine 'died' after W2K.
Doesn't seem to matter which computer so we suspect something with the plotter setup.
I don't think he has the latest drivers as they just came out with new ones this month (likely W8 upgrades).Karl Koning, Registered Architect - WA, CPBD

Can you re-install drivers? if not Win7's, then XP's. It would work ... assuming the problem arose from corrupted drivers.
I have switched to a Canon pinter since HP drivers are too "bloated"
From a forum on Google:
Re: Printer doesn't print jpeg image[
This is weird. do you ever try to use other MS applciation to print jpeg image? If those application works properly, it may not a issue on printer. on another hand, if all jpeg can't be print, I suggest that you can re-install the driver by going to hp.com software & driver download.
Hope it helps and good luck.
I am an employee of HP but I only speak for myself and not for the company.

Thank you Fracois,
With the new W8 drivers out there this may be necessary.Karl Koning, Registered Architect - WA, CPBD

You might try this, " in computer" depending how much plotter memory you have.

Thanks Perry,
I haven't used that option for decades. It might be the needed work around. MBs in Plotters and GBs in computers seems like a reasonable option.Karl Koning, Registered Architect - WA, CPBD

Hi Karl,
I print with a 500 and had the same problem with PDFs..... until I found out that the memory in the printer was only the 16gig? bought more memory and I can now print out a whole project instead of only being able to print out individual sheets, and losing the PDF inserts.
