Why are my raytrace roof colors off

I am trying to finish up a raytrace for a very picky client. The rendering has the correcy burgundy roof color but the raytrace looks almost black. Any ideas why?

Did you check the materials properties? The roof looks quite reflective and that can effect RT colors. Otherwise it can be a bit like calibrating a monitor, just add/subtract color(s) till you get it right. Of course then if you print you have to re-calibrate to match your monitor and if you are sending it via e-mail you have to assume the recipient's monitor will display the color like yours does. Good luck.

I would adjust the properties of that material until I got the look I wanted (Adjust Material Dialog). Why are they off? I would have to have the plan file to be sure but you can tweak it as well as anyone else, just find the settings that work.

Absolutely material render settings. Change it to a Matte Finish.

You can leave the polished material as it is but turn "Enable environment light" on, use sky= 0.1.

You may also add bump map of the same roof material with a value of 0.05 to highlight the seam.

Does changing your daytime ambient to a higher percentage help any?

The easiest thing to do is to Adjust Image Properties > Increase Intensity and/or increase the contrast a bit. That affects everything in the image ... not just the roof material.
