Narrow base cab with single drawer won't show door

Why this behavior in X5? I have my default cab spec set to minimum width of 1/16" so nothing hiccups on small widths. I set for frameless full overlay 1/16" reveal, my default drawer is a slab, and no matter what, I cannot get the narrow cab to accept and show a drawer slab unless I set the width to 6" or more.

They must be buying their olive oil in Coeur d'Alene in gallon jugs. As the photo shows, I need a spice pullout that is a narrow one.

I know. Do a workaround, Gene. But I shouldn't have to. Should I?

Looks like the programmers assumed that no one would want to make a cabinet like that less than 6" wide. They should have called you first. I would give them a call and/or turn in a suggestion thread. Are your spaces/spec's too tight to make a 6" cabinet work?

    Gene,

Can you just use a flat pilaster via the cabinet dbx?

    Gene,

I have 2 of these in my kitchen and they are actually 5.75" wide (6" nominal) but they do not have sides. The simply mount between two adjacent cabinets.

To make this work in Chief I would simply create one 6" wide and display it in 3D. Then use the Convert to Symbol Tool to add it it to your library as Interior Furnishing. It won't show in the Cabinet Schedule But you will be able to make it any width you need.

Another option is to place a Freestanding Cabinet Door from the Library and just set it in place.

I think that CA has simply decided that it would be impractical to make a cabinet with a drawer if the cabinet was less than 6" wide. Obviously they were wrong.

Looks like the problem is the door/drawer style selection but can't tell from what I can see here
Works for me in x5 with slab door, or both slab door and drawer- Using a framed style will not work well.Click image for larger version.

Note: If you use the Interior Furnishing symbol method I think it will show in the "Fixture Schedule" so that's not too big a problem.

Here's a pic of the 6" wide - convert to Furnishing Symbol - place in Plan - change width to 4-1/2".
