windows in basement walls
i'm fine tuning some things with upgrading to x5, to look more accurate...next on the list is windows (and doors) in basement walls. attached is a representation of what I'm currently doing any suggestions would be helpful. I do the following...
-typ. concrete or cmu wall with another int. wall butted against for firing
-place window with ext. casing suppressed in concrete wall, inset 5" +/- and extend frame depth to face of interior DW
-change frame to 2.5", assuming 2x frame around opening, .75" for frame and a little for r.o.
-offset 3-1/2" casing on interior 2-1/4" for overlap
this works but while i was checking things off the list, thought i'd see what others are doing.
thanks for the help,
Darren

I suggest that you clearly state what you are not able to do that you are soliciting suggestions for please. I mean, what is "wrong" with your posted example, if anything?

Thanks David, it's a new forum for me, appreciate the help. You did answer my question. I was unsure if what I was doing was the appropriate or best way to do it.
