Room area

I have a townhouse configuration and Im trying to figure out what the individual units square footages are. Since they overlap its not very easy to figure this out. I was guessing the only way to go about this is using the text specification box and insert living area and add it all up. Does anyone have any quicker easier ways then this?

Second part of my question is Im looking for square footage of the plans, so what insert option is best: internal room area, living area or standard room area? Does anyone know the main differences in these choices?
