Downloading X4

I had a hard drive crash last week and had several plans underway in X4. I have tried to download X4 since a would prefer to finish what I have started in X4 rather than transfer them to X5. When I go to CA the only option it offers me is to download X5. Is there a way to download X4 to a new hard drive?

when you downloaded X5 you should have received a warning to save X4 first

you should contact CA's customer service to see if they have an alternative download
but most likely you will need to order the X4 install DVD (approx. $15 + s/h)

It seems to me that there is no benefit in completing plans in X4 unless you're sharing the work with another X4 user who doesn't have SSA.

while not "required" or "mandatory" to finish a plan in the started version
it is "suggested" to avoid "hassles"

if a newer version is used then the plan should be reviewed for "bumps in the night"
and most likely with little-to-none cleanup it coud be "good to go"

as Dirty Harry said "Do you feel lucky Punk...Well do you ?"

bottom line - using a newer version would probably work fine
just don't assume everything is "peachy keen" until verified
