Sounds like you are using an imperial template.

    You should be using:

Preferences...General...New Plans...Metric Units (click the radio button)
and select default unless you have another you want to use.

Hi, I´m working as an architect in Sweden. Here we are only using the units millimeter instead of feet/inches, kvadratmeter instead of square feet/inches and so on. I´m therefore wondering if there is any way of using the program (Chief Architect Premier X5), to always use these units? I don´t want to have to make changes or settings each time I want to use these units. I would also be glad if there is possible to have the units displayed as "kvadratmeter" instead of "sq metres" etc. Is it possible to change the text in room labels as for example "kitchen" to the swedish translation "kök"?

    Thanks in advance,
    Dan

    Dan:

start a plan with the profilem.plan template for metric

not sure about "kvadratmeter" instead of "sq metres" ???

you can change the room label in the room dbx as needed
leave room type as "kitchen" just change the label

but you will have to do that for each room in each new plan
I don't think there is a way to change the defaults

Out of the box Chief will choose either imperial or Metric depending on the setting of your computer. If you have your computer set up to use metric units Chief will choose that. However, if not you can always change it later in preferences.
