Hey, wait a second, I am now getting my wood grains to change direction depending on whether it is a long cabinet or a short cabinet. It seems like I just read the other day that wood grains change direction if the ratio of whatever is 5:1 or something like that.

This is with a blank front, if there is a door in there it seems to behave. I had deleted the front door panels to see the wood grain easier.

    Scott,

I turned the copied cabinet to where the front (with the hriz lines) faced the side then made the cab 1/16" DEEP, then moved over to meld. Worked again and again.

Just use a Molding PLine with a thin molding and set the x & y values of the tile.

Thanks all...I thought it was going to be a simple answer Glad to have such talent checking my logic. So the best option is the work-around, a thin cabinet face?
    Thank you.

On my computer a base cabinet will keep the tile direction up to 32". At 33" it changes direction. And in this case the front changes direction and the side remains the same.

Yeah that 32" width seems to be magic number - weird. Any depth change has no effect - still weird.

I now see why mine was not working. Larry, I had my texture scaling BACKWARDS. Whereas you had x=6 and y= 20, I had x=20 and y=6, (I forget what your numbers actually were), but you get the point. The texture will behave differently depending on how you have the texture scaling setup.
