Hey, wait a second, I am now getting my wood grains to change direction depending on whether it is a long cabinet or a short cabinet. It seems like I just read the other day that wood grains change direction if the ratio of whatever is 5:1 or something like that.
This is with a blank front, if there is a door in there it seems to behave. I had deleted the front door panels to see the wood grain easier.Last edited by dshall; 10-17-2012 at 10:25 AM.

Thanks Scott, didn't know I could explode a solid. That's actually the only consistent way to get the tile in a uniform direction from side to top. All the other ways tile direction seems to change at will from side to top....at least in my little world.

Scott,
I turned the copied cabinet to where the front (with the hriz lines) faced the side then made the cab 1/16" DEEP, then moved over to meld. Worked again and again. The purpose of Government is to control the common resources, not the common man.

Just use a Molding PLine with a thin molding and set the x & y values of the tile.

Thanks all...I thought it was going to be a simple answer Glad to have such talent checking my logic. So the best option is the work-around, a thin cabinet face?
Thank you.

I now see why mine was not working. Larry, I had my texture scaling BACKWARDS. Whereas you had x=6 and y= 20, I had x=20 and y=6, (I forget what your numbers actually were), but you get the point. The texture will behave differently depending on how you have the texture scaling setup.

Now to really confuse everybody, check this out. Two thin cabinets with the tile going in two different directions.............. it's a bug baby!
