Cladding over doorways

Hi to all users,

I am having considerable difficulty useing a timber cladd wall above the large doors and windows in 250mm wide masonary walls. I do not seem to be able to break the wall cleanly right next to the outer ends of the doors and windows so that the panels above can be assigned the properties of a timber non-loadbearing infill panel. Of course this makes the overviews and renders appear inaccurate with bits of cladding into the blockwork at the sides and vise versa. Any thoughts on this would be very much appreciated.
