Error"The monolithic slab needs to finish building before the operation can complete"

I get this wonderful little message when I start to work quickly in a plan - stopping the 'work quickly' part - quickly.

I guess I could just click the don't show this message again button but this is new and a new step to take while drawing.

Oh boy, I have seen this message more times in the past 2 weeks than I have spent whipping my son into shape. Yeah, what is the deal with this message? It slows up production. What I have done recently is to go to 3D DEFAULTS<OPTIONS<AUTO REBUILD WALLS/FLOORS/CEILINGS and turned that off, that seems to help, but I am not clear on why this is needed.

Yeah, seems kind of unnecessarily. I have found if you basically just wait about a heartbeat longer before demanding something else of Chief, then it doesn't appear. Why not just let the lag happen before executing the next command? There are lots of things you can do to speed up auto-rebuild of everything, why should this one be any different?

Good one Lew - In this case I did just 'build' the slab a few minutes before getting the warning. I'm guessing tomorrow that warning should be gone then huh?

Cant understand that one either only been getting it in the last couple of weeks, but it pops up at odd times and with things that dont affect the slab I think.
pleased everyone is getting it. I have been ignoring it each time.

Make sure you send that into our support. I think you can safely hide that message.

I believe it was added for cases like sending things to layout where some background processing needs to complete. In that particular case it can appear as a program hang if it takes long enough.

The slab generation tools use a complex and expensive process of combining various bits of the generated slab into a single entity. Since this operation can take several seconds or more to complete we do it in the background so that you can continue working.

The observable effect is that lines will show up on parts of a slab in a vector view that will later disappear when the process is complete.

This message appears to be popping in a condition where it shouldn't.

I am glad, so far, that I have not had the honor to see this goofy one, sorry you guys have.
I strongly recommend checking "Don't show me this nonsense again during this session" check box, I use it constantly to protect me from mechanical inanities and banalities.

If Captain Doug, says, report it then report it we should, but like I said, I have not seen this one...yet.

I know this thread is from a while back, but just checking to see if anyone has found a fix? I get this message when updating a window sometimes, which has nothing to do with the slab. It is very frustrating as it takes time. Does it have to do with an update that was released?

    Thanks,

In the last couple of days, I've been getting this message also even after just building a mono slab.

I know they kind of fixed and it is a lot better than it was before. I think it depends on the size of the job your working on.

Perry, I was working on a house this past weekend and had this problem. It has 3,000 sq. ft. using a mono slab.

Sometimes I see this, still, but only for a brief period, maybe only for a few seconds. 3000 s.f is not too large. I see you have the ATI video card, you might try to turn off Edge smoothing for the heck of it. I know that helps some people with those cards
