    Partially extending roof over deck

I have a plan which creates a U shaped deck in the front of the house. How can I extend the roof to partially cover the deck area? I've included the plan and 3D pictures. I want the roof to extend about 3 feet over the entry and the left side of the deck.

Build whatever roof you want manually. Well worth the time to learn.

like Gene said, manually edit to get what you want. Here's how I would do it:

    delete roof planes 2 & 3
click the valley edge of plane 1, then the "join roofs" icon on the context menu, then the valley edge of plane 4
join the ridge of plane 5 to the expanded plane 1 the same way

Draw an invisible wall and check "Roof" in the deck room DBX. Its just a deck with a roof over it. You can also add a ceiling if you want.

    Roof options toolbar

I'm using Home Designer Suite 2012. How do I get to the roof tools to modify the roof as explained previously?

HD Suite doesn't have manual roof tools

you would need HD PRO or Chief Premier

HD users can benefit from following the Chieftalk forum
but the Hometalk forum is aimed at HD users

you should post your query there for better replies
