Roof planes
I have two roof planes on the same roof on a house that I'd like to combine into one. I set them up to be produced as one with the build roof function. I've attempted to make sure the gable ends are equal and directly opposite, but somehow, they just don't merge.
A zip file with a jpeg showing the two planes is attached, along with the plan file. I've messed with this for hours but can't get it to work out. 'Any suggestions? Thanks.

if I understand your question, two roof planes will always remain as two roof planes
Warren's method gives a single roof plane
but I'm not sure if it will work for gables ???
just throwing out ideas - cause I'm not really sure what you are after

See if this is what you need......I don't see what version you're using, but this is done in X4. You may want to attach the version you're using, to your signature. Would be helpful getting the correct reply.

That should be one plane. Make sure they are the same height and it will go together automatically.

I am not going to send the CA file back. (edit - but I guess Cliff will) That would be too easy. See the attached pics. You have a wild roof slice going off to the ridge throwing things off. You need to correct this and get rid of that small roof section to the right (in my images) of the dormer projection. Then take the main roof and extend it, cut it up and reattach everything. I used the tool to move viewing that main roof up one level so that I could do the alignment with the dormer.

The videos we watch are not 100% gold, but if we find a gold nugget, the time spent viewing has a value.

The reason the little 2nd flr roof section dosn't auto generate well, is the fact the 2nd floor walls are not the same length from the back wall. The wall dims. are off.

I'm just saying the little roof offset was created by the side walls that weren't the same length. It worked for me. I wouldn't do that automatically on that plan anyway but I think it could be done.

I should say it is a little of both, so I think you are correct to a point, but the overiding factor is the defined plate hts at first and second floor. Not a bad thing, just the way it is.
