x5 What's the best way to Isolate Cabinets to Auto Dimension
Hi,
x5 Auto Dimension is awesome, but if cabinets are sitting in house, the dimensions extend to the outside of the house and are not as neat as shown in the what's new in x5 video.
Obviously the kitchen needs to be isolated to get the dimensions next to the cabinets.
Is the most efficient way to do this to use Edit, Edit Area Visible? grab the kitchen and move it to a new plan?
Or is there some other way of isolating the cabinets to use Auto Dimensions so the dimensions show up next to the cabinets instead of outside the house?
Thank you, zoe

Zoe:
create a new plan
do an edit area visible on the kitchen only
select copy and then paste into the new plan
clean-up dims only - if needed then send to layout
I have already made a suggestion that CA create a camera that will do this auto-magically to isolate just the kitchen
be careful about making changes in the new plan
as you might need to repeat the process

I thought there was something new that would deal with this but hadn't yet tried. Anyway "Clip Cross Section View at sides" Edit camera- While in section view- 3D-Edit active camera, check "clip to sides" - go back to plan view and select the camera- there is now an indicator for the side to side extents on the plan- drag it in to cut off the section view where you want- go back to the section view and click auto NKBA dimensions. Here is what it does with default settings. Cudos to CA. And thanks for asking, who knows how long I would've taken to try it out.

my reply was aimed at viewing the floorplan with the NKBA dims
which I posted as a suggestion

I see Lou- with open plans that would help.(missed the original) I don't use the NKBA auto in plan much. I end up needing a couple of plan layouts for a lot of kitchen and have taken to using manual and dropping them on different layers and using sets. Might use it more if they implemented what you suggest.

Thank you, both,
Great suggestions in both cases.
