    Yes agreed, solid it is. I never show any 3d framing in the plan anyway because its just never absolutely correct.

    Scott,

    Any Solid will work. But as I said before - for Lew's use I would just turn off auto roof framing.

    IAE, I like a couple of ideas that came up in this thread:

    1. Ability to convert a framing member to a "General Solid" so that we could use the shape for anything else we might want.
    2. Ability to "Lock" an individual framing member so that it doesn't get re-built.

    #1 is my preference just because it gives a lot of new functionality in terms of creating things that match framing members.

    my partner can do this for the finals but I'm looking for quick and easy that I can do for some quick concepts to show the city

    I can't do the finals yet as I don't have access to the property and don't have valid dimensions

    so yes, I could pay him to do prelims and then pay again for the finals

    just trying to learn how do some of this stuff on my own
