    If I was going to do this very often, I would create a Symbol (Sits on Roof, Flush Mounted) and adjust the z origin so that it would be below the roof sheathing. Then I could just stretch it to fit as needed.

    No worry about framing, etc.

    Allen, does married life have something to do with your note to self to refill the ice tray?

    Ingredients:
    2 cups water (approximately)
    2 tablespoons water (addtional if needed)
    Directions:
    1 Empty the ice cubes that are left in the trays (if there are any left) into the bin.
    2 Take the trays over to the sink and fill them with cold water.
    3 Place the water filled ice trays back in the freezer.
    4 Replace the ice bin if you had to remove it.
    5 Shut the door to the freezer.
    Kind Regards,

    Looks like those existing rafters aren't large enough to get r-30 batts in the space, you will have to furr down the portion that is directly exposed to the outside. usually you would need a 2 x 10 but lately they want a 2 x 12 rafter for the air space required. looking at the house those rafters might be 2 x 4 or 6 at most.

    The radiant barrier depends on what climate zone you are in. I haven't had to use r-38 yet around here.

    Sure, of course.

    You force the use of less energy, then raise the price of the energy so that the less energy costs just as much as the more used to.

    Capitalism, this is basic stuff.

    thanks for the replies I will aborb later

    I see some good info here

    just got back from the vet and my male puppy has bad hips and needs surgery

    female may also - getting xrays done

    they are only 6 months old

    I may have to return male and female to the breeder

    Joe:

    I did copy a wall stud and make wider etc and set material to foam insulation

    I tried doing same for rafter but it wouldn't work in 3D and then I posted as I needed to head to the vets

    I'm sure I just had to try some more...

    I tried PS and no luck there either but I suspect my mind really wasn't on the task

    Perry:

    I am doing closed cell foam for floor/walls/catherdral ceiling

    floor = R30
    wall = R21
    Ceiling = R38

    current rafters are 2 x 8's (maybe) I won't know till I get possession on Sept 4

    current walls are 2 x4 and will need to be furred out to 6"

    floor will be 2 x 12's as I need minimum of 2 x 10 for 13' 9" span and need to raise floor by 17" (approx)

    Check in Plan view to make sure what the Layer is and then make sure that Layer is on in your Framing View.

    Yes it does.
    She can cook anything else, but apparently, ice cubes are not on the list.
    And it is Mojito season..
