Masonry size chart?
Does anyone have a Masonry size chart?
Looking for the size of a 2 flue chimney with 8" flues.
Seems like there should be a chart with different sizes.
Thank you...........

Here you go. I draw elevations and plans views (of the fireboxes) and throw this CAD file in for good measure.

Thank you Val.
It is a keeper.
That is not what I was looking for.
I want the size of chimneys for different amount of flues.
Where they get cut out for the framing and roof.
Doing an addition on my house and want the 2 flues for the furnace and future a wood stove..........

Hi Lew
I keep getting how to size the flue.
What I need is the size of the outside of the brick..Framing needs to be 2" space around that.
Should be around 2'x3' ,I'll ask a mason to be sure.
Seems like there should be a chart for this someplace...........

-Hi Allen,
You're very welcome. I think I understand what you're after now...
You need at least 8" of masonry in most states (around the flue) and you are allowed to have 4" of minimum separation between them. (6" block is better in my opinion)
Wood framing needs 2" clearance as per NFPA codes.
To answer your question:
-8" block plus (8" flue) plus 4 inch block separation plus (8" flue) plus 8" block = 36" overall length
-8" block plus (8" flue) plus 8" block = 24" overall width
Also...keep in mind that brick will count as part of the 8" surround on the exterior...so that you can have brick veneer and 4" block as shown in this diagram...
