CAX4 on a Laptop
Hi All,
I would like to find out the minimum specifications for a PC or Mac Laptop to run CAX4, X5..... This laptop would be dedicated specifically for CA only.
Thanks for any advise.

Martin:
check CA's website for the min. system specs
min. means it will probably run - but may not run well
look for a laptop with a dedicated video card with 1 GB+ ram
cpu ram 8 GB+
video card recommendations is Nividia and the best gaming card
you can afford

Lew, since I decided to get back on board with X4, I've also ordered a new laptop for it and upcoming X5. I found a July 4 Sale on HP with $450.00 off on a custom configured unit. Even though I don't have much work right now, I figured I could just play around with the new versions until something breaks open...........

Nice system but you didn't say what the price was, just that it was $450 off.

Louie:
looks like a good system for a good price
I'm not up on the latest CPU's and Video cards
but those specs seem very decent
use that PC as a reference baseline and check out a few other vendors
and then you will be sure you are getting good/best deal

I've seen posts urging Nvidia cards over most others. When I checked their site, I found their most up to date models and specs. What Joe Carrick has with his Asus is almost Nvidia's top of the line, having recently added a bigger, faster model and spec.
When I shopped the Asus site and configured similar specs, the price was more than I was willing to pay, so the special promotion from HP Online sealed the deal for me, though I could only get the 2 GB on the Nvidia card, whereas Joe's has 3 GB.Louie Carter
