MAC vs IBM
I'm currently using X3 version, on a PC, and about to upgrade. Before doing so I am going to purchase a new laptop to do all of the CA work on. It will accompany a large monitor.
My questions are;
Is it practical to use CA on a MAC?
Are there/ will there be "inherent" glitches for CA -MAC interface?
Is it more practical to stick with an IBM for Chief use?
Thank you, in advance, for advice

Andrew:
I'm sure some Mac users will advise at some point
I have heard on this forum that many Mac users have had a postive experience if they use Bootcamp
X3 should run fine using Win7 (even Vista) under Bootcamp
(Win XP ???)
CA will only offer tech support if using Bootcamp

If you're interested, I have an extra laptop - see my specs - that is basically new. It's a great system for Chief Architect and I'll sell it for $1000 including an Oversized Targus Case.
I have a duplicate that I use - the second one is still in the box.
Chief just sings on this laptop.Joseph P. Carrick, Architect - AIA

People for years use a Mac along with boot camp etc to run Chief. No one of those persons has ever complained about Chief's performance within that set up to speak of, so I suppose it should be alright.
I have never owned a Mac and so I am just sharing what I have heard and read, originated by others.
I prefer a PC because that is what I am familiar with. Like anything, you make your choices and then live with and be responsible for those results.

Thank you for your input. The questions are inspired by recent introduction to the Apple products simplicity and ease of use. I am in the exploratory stage and cautious of incurring another learning curve. Having said that, the adage “familiarity breeds contempt” comes to mind and the pain may be worth it.
Best Regards,

Have a MacBook Pro 17" and use Bootcamp with no issues. I use Windows 7 64 bit on the Bootcamp partition....have had no issues, but would love to see Chief operate on a Mac natively. This setup works for now.
