My favorites:
I've mapped the "a" to "open", "z" to "paste hold position", "g" is "point to point move". I also changed the "copy" shortcut to "c" and the "paste" to "v"...no need to use ctrl.
This re-maps some of the pre-programmed chief shortcuts, but it works better for me, and I think they're worth their weight in gold!
Cheers

From an old post of mine:
While we are talking about hotkeys and, I am going to take the opportunity to plug one of my favorite requests.
If anyone has used Generic Cad or Visual Cad, you will know how fast and easy the 2 letter shortcuts are.
You can have a 2 letter shortcut for any command - all customisable.
2 letter (without having to hit Enter after the 2 letters, which I believe you have to do in autocrap) are intuitive - LI for line, ZO for zoom out, SN for snap object, how easy is that!.......Most of Chiefs hotkeys and key combinations are so obtuse that I very rarely use any hotkeys. With a single letter or key shortcut, you soon run out of logical keys. Having to press Shift+Q as a Wall shortcut isn't really a shortcut. Or how about Build Framing, - ever tried to Press Ctrl+Shift+S as the shortcut? You have got to be joking, that's not a shortcut. How easy to just tap B and then F...done!
They are easy to remember.
You don't need to press 2 keys at once.
They are fast - left hand on the keyboard and right hand on the mouse.
Please Chief, have a look at how fast, efficient and easy this method of and hot keys is.Last edited by Glenn Woodward; 06-21-2012 at 02:57 PM.

Perhaps my most used shortcut key, custom mapped of course, is A. It is mapped to 'open object' and I probably use it the most of all. I have shortcuts mapped to the keys A S D F Q W E R Z X C V, and I have them double mapped as ALT-A, ALT-S, ect. ect. Since my right hand is always on the mouse and my left is always on the keyboard, it just makes sense to me that I keep my hand in typing position for text entry, and all my hotkeys are there ready to use.

Nice Rod, Just mapped 'A' to 'open object'. Gotta save cntrl 'A' for select all though - use it all the time.

Another favorite is the 'X' key to re-size text. Hold down 'X' and grab the corner handle of any text object and it re-sizes the font size to taste. Use it ALL the time.

The one example that I use all the time and I know saves me valuable time is:
S = Switch
L = Light
C = Connect
O = Outlet
