Problem with very bright line between ceiling and walls

Hi, I have the following problem: when I raytrace the picture in medium and high quality, the edges between the ceiling and the walls become very bright, like ceiling is detached from walls. Do you know why is this happening and how to fix it?

Search the forum, This has happened to someone before. Forgot what the fix is. Is auto wall framing on? Post the plan, probably an easy fix. Wall height is determined by roof or ceiling height

This is other plan, but the problem is the same. I didn't make any changes to wall settings. I used the default settings.

I think your room needs to be enclosed with exterior walls.

    Kevin,

I don't understand what you mean by this.
There is no difference between an internal wall and an external wall.

It shouldn't matter if interior or exterior walls are used. It also shouldn't matter if a roof is on or not. He said he'd using default settings so I'm thinking video card.

Though if that were the case the OP likely would not be asking how to fix it...

    Ah, the famous Light Leaks...

1 - Try adjusting your wall settings to have the top "balloon through ceiling" on the structure tab. I haven't tried - don't know if it will fix it, but it might.

2 - When all else fails, cheat like all heck - I'd try a polyline solid, extending to outsides of walls, a good 6" thick, and put it just above your ceiling.

3 - Whether or not any of these succeed, send that puppy in to technical support. This is a challenge for the developers with each release, and sending them examples of it not working correctly helps everybody - they welcome things like that. Worst case - they say "bug" and you have to do a workaround. Best case - they find what's wrong and tell you what you should do. You really can't lose.

I wrote code in 1984 to make my Sinclair 100 - so I used to be a programmer! So I can say with authority how easy it is to program Chief features! ;-)

I had this a couple of months ago.

I think my light leak issue related to having chief open for over 36 hours having imported several very large 3DS objects into my model.

Try exiting the model and chief and going back in, select your raytrace camera view once more and see if its fixed. That worked for me.

If all else fails you could add some soffit detailing or some crown mouldings to hide those edges.

On this picture I put molding on top because I thought that it may decide the problem. But light leaks through it and this is only on the left wall. I am а begginer user and this is a mystery for me.
