Object Clashing - Chairs Under Tables Etc

Does anyone know how to enable objects to be positioned within the same area as other objects? I am trying to place some chairs close enough to a table so that part of the chair is under the table but do not seem to be able to achieve this.

Even if you turn off object snaps the table will then move away from the chair when you attempt to place it closer.

    Regards

hold the Ctrl button, select the object and move with the mouse.

Then it will be a matter of the "fill" of objects so the "look" properly stacked in plan view, sometimes the "Fill" tab and then sometimes also the "Edit Symbol - 2-D Block Tab" to get things just right in plan view.
