Chief SSA Training Videos
I am working with a student who is learning Chief, and is using X3 student edition, with a current SSA subscription that is due to expire. He wants to know how to download the training videos so that he may use them after his SSA is over. Can this be done? This is new to me; I've watched a small selection of videos myself, but I was of the impression that they were exclusive to current SSA subscribers, and that downloading copies was not an option. Can anyone confirm this?

If a picture is worth a thousand words, and a video is worth a thousand pictures, then uploading the chief file is worth a thousand videos.

If you have Firefox, you can download them. But - you probably should check first with Chief to make sure that this isn't a violation of your SSA license agreement.
I'm guessing that any distribution would be a violation.Gerry

Gerry:
how does this work ???
I run firefox and then start a video
yesterday I was able to see the "Download this video" pop-up from Realplayer but I couldn't get it to record
getting the pop-up seemed very random
I kept clicking and moving the mouse around and sometimes it would show
many times it wouldn't ???
had to leave for a meeting
today I can't even get the pop-up to show ???

Lew:
Real Player does not work in this application - best used only for YouTube.com.
Load "Download Helper 4.9.8" (or latest) from Firefox site add-ons.
After loaded -- Use the "Download Helper" down arrow button in the parent web page to see all of the videos contained in the (chief video) child page. Click on the appropriate listing. Usually this will be the first one. With this add on - you can download any active video on a page for any site.
I believe this is completely legal, but sharing or distributing the videos without permission is not.Gerry

Gerry:
I would agree
unless I share with a chiefer with SSA
my partner has SSA but has slow internet due to living in a very rural area
watching lots of videos online is not an option for him
thanks for the tips
